How Mindset Coaching Actually Works
Mindset coaching isn’t therapy. It’s not a motivational speech. It’s a practical framework for identifying the stories holding you back and rewriting them—so you can stop getting in your own way and start living the life you’ve been working toward.
mindset coaching
noun [mahynd-set] verb [kohching]
a process that examines the stories you tell yourself and helps you rewrite the ones that aren’t serving you
Mindset Coaching is the no-BS Way to Changing Your Life
Most of us move through life so fast we don’t even notice the thoughts running on repeat. “I’m not good enough.” “I always mess this up.” “People like me don’t get opportunities like that.” These stories shape every decision you make—and most of the time, they’re holding you back without you even realizing it. Or worse: you do realize and can’t seem to get out of your own way and change.
What Mindset Coaching is (and is not)
Mindset coaching is structured sessions where you identify limiting beliefs, trace them back to where they started, write them out, and actively rewrite them into beliefs that actually serve you.
Mindset coaching is not therapy or treatment for mental health conditions (I’m not a therapist). It’s not advice-giving, quick fixes, or someone telling you what you want to hear.
Is Mindset Coaching for You?
This is for people who:
- Have achieved success in some areas but still feel stuck
- Are tired of reading self-help books that don’t create lasting change
- Are willing to look at uncomfortable truths about themselves
- Want practical tools and accountability, not just encouragement
- Are ready to take ownership and put in consistent effort
- Can commit to showing up and doing homework between sessions
This is NOT for people who:
- Want validation rather than transformation
- Expect quick results without putting in the work
- Aren’t willing to be honest and vulnerable
- Are dealing with severe mental health crises (please work with a licensed therapist)
- Would rather be told what to do than discover their own answers
- Aren’t actually ready to change, just talk about it
If you’re in crisis: If you’re experiencing severe depression, suicidal thoughts, or a mental health emergency, please call 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or work with a licensed therapist. Mindset coaching can complement therapy but is not a substitute for mental health treatment.
The Process
We meet for 1-hour sessions, once per week. This is a partnership—I guide the process and ask you questions while you do the work.
Complete Intake Questionnaire
Answer detailed questions about what you're struggling with. This sets the foundation for our work together.
Write and Examine Your Stories
In each 1-hour session, we tackle what's most pressing. You'll tell your story, write it out, and identify what it's actually saying about you.
Rewrite your story
We turn limiting beliefs into statements that feel true and possible for you. Not fake affimations—real reframes that resonate when you read them.
Practice and Integrate
Between sessions, you'll practice the reframes in real life and develop tools to get yourself unstuck—tools that work long after our sessions end.
What makes mindset coaching successful?
Curiosity to question your beliefs. Openness to new perspectives. Honesty about what’s actually happening. Willingness to be uncomfortable. Consistency to show up and do homework.
FAQ
Is this therapy?
No. Therapy treats mental health conditions and processes trauma. Mindset coaching helps you change current patterns and beliefs. Many people do both—they work well together.
Can I do this while I'm in therapy?
Yes. Just let your therapist know you’re also doing coaching work.
How is this different from life coaching?
Most coaching focuses on goals and accountability. Mindset coaching goes deeper—we identify the specific stories holding you back, trace them to where they started, and actively rewrite them. If past coaching felt surface-level or didn’t create lasting change, this is a different approach.
How do I know if I'm ready for mindset coaching?
Ready doesn’t mean perfect—it means willing. Willing to be honest, do homework, and look at hard truths.
What happens on the discovery call?
We talk for 30 minutes about where you’re stuck. I explain how it works. We figure out if we’re a good fit. No pressure, just clarity.
What do the sessions cost?
Sessions are sold in packages: a 3-session package to address one specific issue, or a 10-session package to work through multiple areas. If you need additional sessions after your package, we can discuss extending your work together.
Meet Your Coach: Eric
In 2010, Eric was broke and directionless. He sold everything, moved in with his mom, and got clear on one story: “I’m ready to create a successful gym and be in a relationship.” Two months later, he met his wife. Fifteen years later — three successful CrossFit gyms.
But success brought new challenges. As a leader, Eric struggled with accountability and conflict. He read every leadership book he could find, but nothing worked until he discovered the Enlifted Method — a framework that showed him the problem wasn’t his circumstances. It was his stories.
Now Eric helps people rewrite the stories holding them back. No advice. No bullshit. Just questions and direction that help you see clearly and get out of your own way so you can start living the life you imagine.
Tired of being stuck?
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be ready to look at what’s actually holding you back—and do something about it.
